David Zonker & Jim Lynch – Our 50 States Marathon Journey

Hello Runners,

Happy New Year! I hope all is well with each of you, and you are staying safe and healthy!

I've not released an interview podcast episode in January because I've been working on the new Motivation "Runday" Monday quick episodes. They are going well and feature runners just like you. If you would like to be featured on an episode, go to FeelGoodRunning.com/mrm and get all the details.

This is a very special episode to me. On October 21, 2006, my best friend David Zonker and I ran across the finish line of the Breakers Marathon in Middletown, RI completing an 8 ½ year journey running a full marathon in all 50 States. We are officially certified with 50 States Marathon Club.

As of this episode there are 1,619 50 States Marathon Finishers, however not all of them are certified. I'm the 277th and David is the 278th official finisher. It was an incredible journey. Hear us reminisce about our experience. Very special.

I also speak about the stacked up marathons that have been pushed into October. Let's cross our fingers that this pandemic is under enough control that these events can go on live. I'm sure there will be some restrictions, but runners need to run live races.

Thank you for listening to the Feel Good Running Podcast, and please share this with your running friends and on your social media platforms. I would very much appreciate it.

Be well, and be safe runners. Wear your mask in public. Please be kind and courteous to others, and share our love of the sport of running!

Keep running!

~ Jim
