Frank Campo – Prana Endurance Training

Hello Runners!

How is it going? It is hot just about everywhere in the USA. As if we don't have enough to deal with already with the coronavirus, now we need to deal with the heat. Oh well, it is summer, right?

Below are a couple of links to articles that provide suggestions for running in hotter weather such as staying hydrated. Remember to take your phone, a credit card and some cash just in case you get into trouble during your run and need some water or an Uber or Lyft to get a ride back home. Better to be safe than sorry.

This is a great episode with my guest and friend, personal running and triathlon coach, Frank Campo from Prana Endurance Training. Frank coaches athletes all over the world. He is known for helping athletes balance their busy lives and their training schedule in a way that allows them to get more out of each workout, to get faster, to avoid injury and to guide them to that ultimate PR goal. After listening to our great conversation, you can reach Frank and book a free 15-minute consultation to see how he can help you train smarter not harder.

I just watched a powerful running documentary, Skid Row Marathon. This has been out for awhile, and I am not sure how I missed it. It is about a very selfless person Craig Mitchell, a criminal judge in Los Angeles, who started a running club from the downtown LA Mission. He trains former criminals and addicts to run a marathon. I actually read an article on the Skid Row Runners in Runners World last year, and it really touched me. It is all about giving back and believing in others.

I am going to be in Los Angeles in early September and plan to run with the Skid Row Running Club . I'm working on doing a Podcast episode with them. I hope it works out, and you will be the first to know if it does. Definitely check out the documentary, Skid Row Marathon. It scores high on my list.

Be safe runners. Wear your mask in public. Please be kind and courteous to others. This pandemic is tough, but we are all in this together. We will beat it as a team. And remember to “just show up and always, ALWAYS, feel good about YOUR running!"

~ Jim
